Here’s a fun trailer for an 80’s inspired werewolf horror comedy from the title Shivering shivers. The movie was actually directed by Fast & Furious star Sung Kangwho played Han, and this seems like a very surprising project of his, but I like it!
This is Kang’s feature film directorial debut, and in the film, “After being bitten by a mysterious animal, Lucy becomes convinced that she will transform into a fearsome werewolf. Together with her best friend Karen, the two embark on a wild adventure filled with magic and mayhem, as they try to do battle with a gasping creature plucked straight from an 80s horror movie.”
Kang shot the film in a closed Girl Scout camp, and the film is said to contain “exciting monster mash” that “captures the spirit of the 80s classics Kang grew up adoring. Kang said in a statement, “The idea was to make this for old-school horror hounds and to share it with their families today.”
Brad Miska, managing director of Bloody Disgusting/Cinedigm: “This campy film takes us back to a time when spooky tales were shared by the torch at sleepovers. Sung Kang’s directorial debut promises a truly unique and exciting experience for fans. With its eclectic mix of quirky humor, chilling moments, monstrous creatures, and a charming throwback atmosphere, fans are in for one hell of an experience.
The film was written by Andrew McAllister AND Aaron Strongoniand the film is the protagonist Brooke Markham (In the darkness) AND VyVy Nguyen (The sympathizer). The film hits theaters for one night only on September 21 from Fathom Events and Bloody Disgusting’s SCREAMBOX.
