Eli Roth’s BORDERLANDS film has a 2024 release date

Eli Rotis the big screen adaptation of the hit video game Borderlands it hit a release date of August 9, 2024. This is a film I was initially excited about, but after hearing the horror stories from the production, that excitement subsided.

The film had gone through two weeks of reshoots not directed by Roth. The studio ended up introducing Dead Pool director Tim Miller to fill in for Roth for the shoot because Roth was starting work on his Thanksgiving horror film.

There were also rumors that writer Craig Mazine would have his name removed from the film. He later responded to that rumor, saying he’s not a credited writer on the film. While I would love nothing more than for this movie to be great, I’m not sure it will work. We’ll just have to wait and see.
