Shudder has released a trailer and poster for his upcoming noir horror thriller Authorwhat stars Kiah McKiranan AND Alicia Silverstone and is described as a “feminist coming-of-age horror-noir film”. The film is also said to be like a mix of David Lynch AND John Hughes. It looks like a big horror movie!
In the film, “Jonny Baptiste (McKirnan) is a reckless teenager sent to live with her estranged Aunt Hildie (Silverstone). On her eighteenth birthday, she experiences a radical change: a family spell that redefines her called Forevering. When several teenage girls go missing at her new school, a mythically savage Jonny pursues the Author.
The film was written and directed by Jennifer Reder (V/H/S/94, End of the Night, Knives and Leather) and is also the protagonist Christopher Lowell (The exorcism of my best friend, promising young woman), Melania Liburd (The idol), Ireon Roach (Candyman), Casimere Jolette (Nice little things), Ilirida Memedovsky (Birdies book), Sasha KuznetsovAND Greta Stolte.
Perpetrator will screen on Shudder and will be released in select theaters on September 1, 2023.
