New photos released for Marvel Studios’ THE MARVELS and new details shared

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a collection of new photos to share with you from the next Marvel film The wonders. I don’t expect this to be Marvel’s biggest movie, but it looks like it will provide entertaining entertainment.

The film is the protagonist Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, e Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, and embark on a wild intergalactic adventure as they have somehow connected, causing them to physically switch places every time they use their powers. So, they have to work together to figure out why.

Parris said in an interview, “I’m thrilled that the MCU has three female leads, all from very different backgrounds, and all of them are evil in their own way,” Parris explains. “It’s going to be really exciting just to see these smart, funny, smart, hard-pressed women find their way.”

Larson goes on to talk about how the characters have to learn to be a team: “I understand that feeling of being afraid to let go of control, afraid to shift the responsibility onto others. You almost want to take all the burden yourself. So, I think think this is an amazing metaphor for learning how to be in a team. It’s a very clear example that no one person can do everything. You need all kinds of skills, all kinds of people with different points of view and different backgrounds to save the world”.

She went on to say that her character Carol became a workaholic after the events of Endgame: “The way I’ve been able to tap into and understand is the concept that Carol has become a workaholic, and she’s lost touch with his heart and with family and friends. It’s definitely something I can relate to.”

Executive producer Mary Livanos continues on the story concept, explaining that “that swap of locations harkens back to the early 1960s Captain Marvel comics, where Mar-Vell (the first Captain Marvel) and the human Rick Jones swapped placed using magical Kree bracelets called Nega-Bands.”

Livanos then teases how Carol, Monica, and Kamala’s powers intertwine, and it’s explained that “all three have light-based abilities: Carol can absorb energy and fire powerful photon blasts; Monica can manipulate all wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum; and Kamala can harden light, which she uses to create giant fists or mid-air springboards.

Larson goes on to explain that he hopes the silliness of the story shines through and says, “It doesn’t have to be intense and heavy. There’s a lot of humour. I think this film is very funny and we laughed a lot while making it.”

Vellani said, “We’re really lucky because we have such a plethora of female characters with real flaws and real story arcs. Time and time again, it’s proven that not only do these stories have a solid fan base, they sell. Marvel has always backed the idea of finding this idealized version of yourself through their characters – a version of yourself that can fly through space or stop a train with one hand.I think the aspiration to be greater than you are is a feeling so universal, regardless of gender identity. I hope people recognize that and find ways to identify with all of our characters.”

The film also sees the return of the franchise Samuel L.Jackson, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia ShroffAND Mohan Kapur. New cast members include Zawe Ashton AND Seo-joon Park.

The wonders will be released in theaters on November 10.
