I have some great news for Babylon 5 fan! While we wait for the revival series to finally happen, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has revealed that they will be releasing the original Babylon 5 series on Blu-ray for the first time ever!
The complete series will be available at online retailers on December 5 with all 110 original episodes fully remastered in HD. Unfortunately, there will be very few bonus features, and it also won’t include a companion digital copy that comes standard on most Warner Bros. releases.
Babylon 5 was created by writer and producer J. Michael Straczynski and originally debuted in 1993. It is a space opera series that ran for five seasons from 1994 to 1998.
The series is set in 2258 AD “Five hostile federations dominate the most remote regions of space. Heroes, thieves and rare and exotic beings find refuge in this time of uneasy peace and the constant threat of war on a lonely space station – the last and best hope for peace among a hundred worlds, alien and human alike – Babylon 5.
The series is the protagonist Bruce Boxleitner, Michael O’Hare, Claudia Christian, Jerry Doyle, Mira Furlan, Andrew Katsulas, Peter Jurasik, Richard Biggs, Andrew Thompson, Stephen Furst, Bill mom, Tracy Scoggins, Jason Carter, Roberto Rusler, Jeff Conaway, Patricia TalmanAND Mary Kay Adams.
It’s been a long time since I watched this series, but watching it in HD will give me an excuse to watch it again. There is also an animated film coming soon, Babylon 5: The road homethat fans will appreciate!
