Simu Liu made his big MCU debut in 2021 Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and some fans have been wondering when we might see him in action again. The actor had previously shared on social media Shang Chi 2 would happen after one of the next Avengers movies, Avengers: Kang Dynasty OR Avengers: Secret Warswhich will be released in 2026 and 2027.
As for when the character will appear again in the MCU, Liu says he’s “pretty sure” there will be The Kang Dynasty. When asked in an interview with Men’s Health if he would be in that film, Liu said:
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ll be there too. Beyond that, I really don’t know, and I don’t want to know until it’s absolutely ready. If there’s anything I’ve learned in this industry, especially with Marvel, it’s that things change, they’re always in flux, and you can’t really be sure anything is going to happen until you’re on set and about to shoot the scene. all the rest”.
The actor also teased that his character could return sooner than we think:
“I’m a huge fan of both the characters and the performers who play them, so any collaboration is an opportunity for me to work alongside someone who is, in their own way, breaking barriers and at the top of their game. I think that’s what excites me the most as an artist, [and] even as a fan. And who knows, they might be seeing something sooner than you think. We will see.”
It will be nice to see real martial arts action in the MCU again. Liu continued to say that he is working Barbiein which he plays one of many Ken, between Marvel films was “really fulfilling” and added:
“If and when that call comes… obviously, a sequel will happen. Obviously, Kang Dynasty will happen. When that call comes, I’ll happily show up, read everything I need to read, do everything I need to prepare. But until So, I think the less I know the better.”
