Kevin Feige teases him [Spoiler] in SECRET INVASION he was secretly a Skrull in the MCU for a while

The fourth episode of Secret invasion confirmed one of the show’s most popular fan theories. That was a pretty big reveal, and in a recent interview with the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feigeoffered some additional details on the reveal and what it means for the MCU.

If you haven’t seen the latest episode of Secret invasion however, you may want to skip this one as we are entering spoiler territory.

It has been revealed that James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes (Don Cheadle) has secretly been a Skrull, and according to Feige, he’s been a Skrull for quite some time in the MCU. During a recent interview with Marvel, Feige said:

“We like the idea of ​​fans going back and looking at some of Rhodey’s other appearances and realizing it wasn’t him.”

Feige went on to say that viewers will soon “understand exactly how long he’s been a Skrull.” She then added:

“It was very early when we presented this concept to Don, and he was very interested and could play with different sides of Rhodey that we hadn’t seen before.”

Regarding Rhodey’s Skrull arc in the story, Feige explained:

“We needed to have a character that you wouldn’t expect to be a Skrull. Don was on board for this revelation to play and reveal another side of Rhodey and reveal that, yes, Rhodey was a Skrull.

This was a fun revelation even though it was completely expected. As soon as Rhodey lashed out at Fury and fired him, I knew he was a Skrull, and I think most fans knew that too. It will be really interesting to see how they continue to play with this as Rhodey is a trusted envoy and advisor to President Ritson.
