EA is developing a Black Panther video game in collaboration with Marvel. The game will be created by the Cliffhanger Games studio, which is based in Seattle.
The new Black Panther the game is supervised by Kevin Stephens, who also worked on the Middle-earth games, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor AND The shadow of war in a leadership role. He said in a statement:
“We are committed to providing fans with the ultimate and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game.
“Wakanda is a rich superhero sandbox and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do.”
There aren’t really any other details that have been revealed for the game, but it will be nice to see what they’ve come up with! It would be great if they create a great gaming experience for the fans.
EA’s press release mentions that Cliffhanger will be building his team over the “next few years,” so it’ll be a while before we see anything from the Black Panther game.
Cliffhanger Games is made up of veterans of Monolith Productions which is the developer who previously developed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor AND The shadow of war. There are also veterans of God of War, Halo, Call of Duty, and more in the development team.
