The image above gives us a first look at the highly anticipated horror sequel The nun 2, which is a film that looks absolutely terrifying. I’m a fan of Evocation movies about the universe and The nun 2 it seems that the next film will be much better than the first. I’ve already seen the footage of it and was impressed!
The nun star Taissa Farmiga she is ready to reprise her role as Sister Irene and will join Storm Reid. In the story, there are a series of murders in the Vatican and the church believes that the evil nun Valak is the cause. So, they call Sister Irene to help and confront the nun again.
In this story, Sister Irene lives this anonymous life in a convent in Italy. Director Michael Chaves explained to EW that “He’s had this traumatic experience, this great adventure, and now he wants to live the life of service.” As one might expect, that lifetime service will come with more horror as the demon nun, the terrifying incarnation of Valak, now possesses Irene’s friend Maurice, who is played by Jonas Bloquet. The director continued:
“Maurice moved to France and works in this boarding school as a handyman. He has a friendship and flirtation with one of the teachers there, and you can see him starting to mature, so that’s where our characters begin. But we know from the first film that there is something terrible inside him, that Valak has escaped inside him, and events put Irene back on a collision course with her old friend.”
Speaking of Storm Reid’s character, the director described her character as “a young novice, just like Taissa portrayed in the first film.” She went on to say:
“She’s a nun in training and she’s debating whether to take her vows. She’s at this pivotal point in her life, and she’s being drawn with Irene on this mission, this journey, hunting Maurice through these horrific events that happen.”
Actress Bonnie Aarons she’s also set to reprise her role as the demon nun, and speaking of her return, Chaves said, “Bonnie is amazing. She can really turn on, she really knows what’s scary and it’s so easy. It’s not like she’s always in this character of dark nun, she’s not the method nun.”
The director also talks about the image above which shows the sinister faceless nuns saying, “The faceless nuns are back. She was a fan favorite and also became part of the marketing campaign for the first film. movie I don’t want to spoil anything else [about them].”
Chaves then goes on to tease that this upcoming film will also tie into the larger Conjuring cinematic universe, saying:
“Anyone who’s a fan of this knows the timeline and this is definitely part of the timeline. There’s a ton of cool stuff. I honestly can’t wait for it to come out so I can just download all the little easter eggs we’ve been laying around the movie”.
The nun 2 will be released in theaters on September 8.
