Propstore, the world’s leading film and TV memorabilia company, recently kicked off a new Props auction this week that was jam-packed with horror props. On Wednesday, June 28, more than 500 movie and TV props were auctioned off and brought in a total of $9.7 million.

The most expensive auction item ended up being the original creepy clown doll from Steven Spielberg AND Tobe HopperThe 1982 horror movie Poltergeist!

Brandon Alinger, Propstore COO, said in a statement: “The strength of the auction sales of titles such as Back to the Future, Batman, The Big Lebowski, Blade Runner, JumanjiAND Star Wars shows the strength of entertainment collectibles as a hobby. It was also a very big day for horror, with our top two sales going to iconic horror props from Poltergeist AND The thing. We now move on to auction days 2 and 3, with hundreds of fantastic lots still to be sold to new owners around the world.”

As the auction continues, over 900 additional lots will be sold today on day 2 (Thursday, June 29) and day 3 (Friday, June 30) of the auction, with bidding beginning each day at 8:00 am PDT. Bids can be made online or by telephone at https://propstore.com/liveauction.
