GLADIATOR 2 behind-the-scenes photos and videos reveal the massive set and Colosseum

Some behind the scenes videos and a photo from the set of Ridley Scott’S Gladiator 2 they have surfaced online showing the huge set of the film and we also get a good look at the Colosseum which is damn huge. This set that was built for this film is very impressive.

Principal photography on the film recently began in Malta, located in the central Mediterranean between Sicily and the North African coast. It’s pretty cool to get a behind-the-scenes look at Scott’s vision for this film come to life. It was really cool to be a part of this production and see all of this for yourself!

There’s even a video included that shows a little action as the actor prepares for a fight scene. The film is the protagonist Paul Mescal like Lucio, Peter Pascal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen will return as Lucilla and the star of Stranger Things Joseph Quinn will play the emperor Caracalla. Fred Hechinger (The White Lotus) will also play Emperor Geta.

The film centers on Lucius, son of Lucilla and grandson of Commodus, son of the Roman leader Marcus Aurelius who killed his father and took the throne. Commodus met his downfall in the gladiatorial arena against Maximus, who despite being mortally wounded, defeated the emperor before moving on to reunite with his family. Maximus had saved Lucio and his mother, leaving a lasting impact on the boy.

The first film was a masterpiece and will be hard to beat because the bar was so high. But maybe Scott will surprise us and deliver a great sequel that will be every bit as good as the first film.

Paramount Pictures will release the film on November 22, 2024.
