We have a new big budget Transformers animated film coming up titled Transformers One and it looks like it’s going to end up being a great movie. I am very excited about the story he will tell, which revolves around the origins of Cybertron, and will center on a young Optimus Prime and Megatron who are finding their way.
Scarlett Johansson she stars in the film and plays a character named Elita-One. During an interview with Collider, the actress chatted a bit about the film and teased the animation style, which will apparently be something we’ve never seen before. She said:
“Yes, I play Elita. I’m working with Josh Cooley, who is an incredible writer-director who I love and have worked creatively with in another role. The film is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, it looks so good The storyline is so great. And because Josh wrote it, it just feels like a very… I don’t know, he has a very dramatic feel about it. It’s funny, but it has so much heart that it’s like all of his stuff. I think It’s a different way to approach this IP. I think it stands on its own, it’s quite exciting.”
It’s exciting to hear! This has definitely piqued my curiosity and I can’t wait to see what the style of this film will be like.
Johansson is joined by Chris Hemsworth like Optimus Prime, Brian Tiree Henry as Megatron, Keegan-Michael Key like hornet, Jon Hamm such as Sentinel Prime, e Laurence Fishburne such as Alpha Trion.
It was explained that “This is…the origin story of young Megatron and young Optimus. If you know the origin, they started out as friends, and over time things changed for them and ended up on two sides. So we’re telling the story of young Optimus and young Megatron. We’re really telling the origin story of all Transformers, both who they were in the beginning, and how they grow up, and how they go their separate ways.”
Paramount Animation president Ramsey Naito previously had this to say about the new Transformers film: “I am so excited and proud to work with Hasbro and eOne to bring the first animated Transformers film to theaters for a story never told before. honored to have such incredible talents brought together to play these well-known and much-loved characters in an origin story at the heart of the franchise.”
This will be the first in what Di Bonaventura calls a “natural trilogy” and will explore “Cybertron in a way you’ve never seen it, that no one has ever seen it before.”
The film is directed by Josh Cooley (Story of the toy 4) from a script he wrote with Andrew Barra AND Gabriel Ferrari.
Transformers One will be released in theaters on September 13, 2024.
