Friend Rupert (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Asteroid City, Homeland) has joined the cast of the sci-fi thriller Companywhich comes from the creative team behind the successful horror film Barbarian.
Drew Hancock wrote the original screenplay and is making his directorial debut with the feature film, and director of Barbarian, Zach Cregger, is producing the film. Dude joins the previous cast Jack Quaid, Luke Gage, Megan Suri, Sofia ThatcherAND Harvey Guillen.
There are no details yet on what story the film will tell, but it is being described as ‘self-contained’ and we know Thatcher will be playing a character who is more than meets the eye.’ There are no further details on any of the characters played by the other actors.
New Line has acquired Companion in a competitive situation following the multi-studio bidding war for Barbarian director Zach Cregger’s new horror Weapons, which Cregger is producing alongside Vertigo’s Roy Lee and BoulderLight’s Raphael Margules and JD Lifshitz, in addition to Miri Yoon.
The friend finished shooting recently Wes Anderson’S The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar for Netflix and the feature film Canary blackboth scheduled for release in 2024.
