I’m sure you’ve all heard the jokes about how when we were kids, we thought quicksand would become a much bigger problem when we got older because it was always in the cartoons we watched. Well luckily that’s something I’ve never come across in my life!
Well, we have a new movie coming out titled Quicksand, and is a survival thriller about a couple who find themselves stranded in quicksand. The film comes from Shudder and the first trailer has been released.
In Quicksand, “an American couple, on the verge of divorce, travels to Colombia for a business conference. While hiking in the rainforest, a storm leaves them trapped in a pit of quicksand. Unable to move, it becomes a fight for survival as they battle the elements of the jungle and a venomous snake, to escape.
The film was directed by Andrés Beltran (Tarumama) from a script written by Matt Pitt (Western world). The film is the protagonist Caroline Gaitan (Enchantment) AND Allan Hawco (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan).
Beltrán said in a statement, “Making Quicksand has been such an exciting and inspiring experience. I hope people can relate to the intense emotions Carolina and Allan portrayed so well. We shot the film on location in a cold forest in the mountains of Colombia. Although the weather conditions were tough on the actors and crew, we continued to enjoy the process as we wanted to tell this story as real as possible.
The Shudder Original Movie will make its exclusive streaming debut Friday, July 14 on Shudder and will also be available to stream on AMC+.
