James Gunn Says Working on SUPERMAN: LEGACY Is Like ‘Being a Kid Again’

Superman: Legacy director James Gunn he recently talked about what it was like for him to make a new Superman movie. This is a project that many DC fans are excited about, but there are also people who are still disappointed with it Henry Cavill he won’t come back as the Man of Steel.

I just think Gunn is a great director and storyteller and I’m confident in his ability to make a great Superman movie that fans will love. When asked on social media what makes him most excited about facing Superman, the director said the experience is “so unlike anything he’s ever done” and that “it’s like being a kid again.”

Superman: Legacy tells the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, driven by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.

There’s been a lot of reports, rumors, and casting speculation lately, but Gunn has yet to make any official announcements. However, he’s narrowing it down and getting closer.

Superman: Legacy is expected to go into production in early 2024 before its theatrical release scheduled for July 11, 2025. It will launch the film portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1, and will be followed by The Brave and the Bold , Supergirl, Swamp Thing and more.

I just hope Gunn ends up making a Superman movie that makes us feel like kids again.
