John Wick: Chapter 4 it was almost three hours of badass action madness. I loved that movie and thought it was one of the best installments of the franchise. The original cut of the film, though, was nearly four hours long! So, there was a lot of footage that didn’t end up in the final cut of the film.
Well, director Chad Stahelski shared that he’s working on an extended version of the film from the director, but don’t worry, it won’t be that four-hour version of the film. This new cut will contain only 10 to 15 minutes of extra footage. Speaking to ComicBookMovie, Stahelski said:
“I’ve been working on the Director’s Cut, the extended cut, which we’re almost done. There’s about another, I think, 10 to 15 minutes that we put back in.”
10 to 15 minutes isn’t all that crazy, and when asked what kind of extra footage we’re going to see, don’t worry, it won’t be more footage of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick falling down the stairs. The director said:
“We cut out a big chunk of Berlin, a whole character called The Frau, which is a pretty funny scene with John, and another scene between him and Tracker, some other little action beats that we put back. I mean, yeah “There are always things we take away because they don’t fit the pace. I think things are all very good quality, I love the choreography, I love the characters. It just didn’t happen – overall, it changed the pace of the film… “
If you’re picky about showing fans these new scenes, I’m excited to watch them! We have no idea when we’ll see this director’s cut John Wick: Chapter 4 released, but I’m totally ready to see more footage of John Wick in action! Oliver Stone? Not so much.
