Christopher McQuarrie says MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise will continue until ‘audiences are no longer entertained’

THE Mission Impossible the franchise started in 1996, the year that Tom Cruise he first stepped into the role of Ethan Hunt and wowed audiences with intense action and stunts that only intensified with each film. The first four films were directed by different directors, and the fifth film, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015) was the first of Christopher McCarriewhich he continued to do Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) and its two-part sequels, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, first partwhich will hit our screens next month, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Twowe headed out next summer.

Cruise’s longtime collaborator McQuarrie wrote the big film The usual suspectsfor which he won an Academy Award, and wrote, and sometimes directed, Cruise in other ventures, including Valkyrie (2008), Jack Reacher (2012), Edge of tomorrow (2014), The Mummy (2017) and the blockbuster smash hit Top Gun: nonconformist (2022).

After these two Mission: Impossible – Showdown movies will come out, Cruise and McQuarrie will come out with theirs Untitled SpaceX film, which will be the first Hollywood film ever shot in real space. Douglas Liman he’s directing that, and he’s got a lot of buzz surrounding it.

So that means the Mission Impossible could the franchise end with the two-part films completed and new projects in the works for the actor and franchise writer/director? According to McQuarrie, he is open to further exploring the ME world, as long as the fans have fun.

At this week’s premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, first partMcQuarrie was asked on the red carpet if this was the end of the franchise, and he told THR, “Mission Impossible it will end when the audience is no longer entertained.

Judging by the early reviews of the film, audiences are still quite enthusiastic about the stories told by the makers of Mission Impossible.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, first part hits theaters July 12.
