THE Sonic the hedgehog spin-off series, Knuckleswhich is headed to Paramount+, has locked down its all-star cast, including Cary Elwes (The princess bride, Saw), Stockard Channing (Fat, Practical Magic), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future, The offer bar), Paul Scheer (Look, The Good Place) AND Rob Huebel (Children’s hospital, Sex lives of college girls). Character details are being kept under wraps.
Join previously announced Idris Elba as the titular character Knuckles and Adam Pally, who will reprise his role from the film franchise as Wade Whipple, with recurring cast members Edi Patterson, Giuliano Barratt, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylorand guest stars Rory McCann AND Tika Sumpter reprising her role as Maddie.
The live-action series will follow Knuckles on an action-packed, hilarious journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.
Jeff Fowlerwho directed both Sonic the hedgehog film, will direct the pilot episode and will executive produce the series. Sonic the hedgehog 2 writer John Whittington wrote the pilot for Knuckles and serves as head writer and executive producer on the series. Brian Schacter AND James Madeski they are also writers.
When previously discussing the Knuckles series, Fowler said, “He’s such a wonderful character that there are so many different ways you can go [in the series] that fans could really get excited about.
The series takes place between the films Sonic the hedgehog 2 AND Sonic the hedgehog 3and is set to be released on December 20, 2024.
