Paramount Pictures has released another behind-the-scenes featurette for Tom Cruise and director Christopher McCarrie’S Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one. The new promotional video focuses on an insanely funny car chase sequence set in Rome.
I actually had the opportunity to watch this full scene at CinemaCon, and this might be one of the best car chase scenes ever put into a movie, it’s pretty wild and I loved every second of it! It’s really nice to get a sense of how this action sequence was made and what brought it to life for the film.
McQuarrie also explains why filming this scene was so difficult and talks about the “possessed machine” they used for the scene. All of the driving was done by Cruise himself and for most of it, he is doing the one handed stunt driving! The video features behind-the-scenes footage of all of this along with new footage from the actual film.
In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, “Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, he embarks on a deadly race around the globe. Facing a mysterious and all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to realize that nothing matters more to his mission than he does, not even the lives of those he cares most about.
This is a really funny featurette worth checking out! Damn, this movie is going to be a blast! I’ve also included a new poster for you to check out.
We’ve already seen footage of an airplane stunt Cruise is doing for the film. There’s also that crazy stunt where he sends a motorcycle off a cliff into a base jump, which is said to be “The Greatest Stunt in the History of Motion Pictures.” Plus, there’s a fight scene that takes place on top of a train that was real!

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, first part and the second part will be released on July 14, 2023 and June 28, 2024.
