A couple of years ago, it was announced that Scarlett Johansson AND Kevin Feige they were teaming up to produce a mysterious Marvel film project that doesn’t involve her character Black Widow. This “Top-Secret” project is something entirely separate, and while we have no idea what this project is all about, Johansson has confirmed that it’s still in the works. During a recent interview with CB, she stated:
“It’s still happening. Yes. It’s still happening, [but] not currently because nothing is happening right now. We’re all kind of in this waiting pattern as we wait for the writers’ strike and potentially our guild strike, and so on and so forth.”
He went on to say, “Right before the strike, we were in the thick of development, and now everything is on a slow fire.” Kevin Feige is the person who initially announced the project and said at the time:
“We are already working with Scarlett on another top secret non-Black Widow Marvel Studios project with her as a producer. Scarlett is one of the most talented, versatile and beloved actresses of our time. From those epic training sessions in preparation for corridor combat in Iron Man 2, to the worldwide press tour in Avengers: Endgame, to collaborating with you as producer on Black Widow, working with you Scarlett has truly been a one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career.
“As Marvel’s Studios’ first and longest-serving female hero, Scarlett has held her ground among a sea of men – many named Chris – and paved the way for so many other characters in the MCU: Carol Danvers, Wanda Maximoff , Shuri, Jennifer Walters, Monica Rambeau, Kamala Khan, just to name a few. Scarlett brilliantly embodied Natasha in an incredible action-packed span of 11 years, eight films with countless stunts and fight scenes, Civil War, Infinity War and dozens of hairdos, all culminating in one of the MCU’s most anticipated independent films, Black Widow.”
It will be interesting to see what this secretive Marvel project turns out to be. If I had to guess, though, I’d say it could be that big all-female Marvel team-up movie that’s been teased over the years. But who knows? One day we’ll find out what she and Feige have in store!
