Insomniac Games has released a great new gameplay video for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with Venom in action. They also shared some new details on what the game will entail and announced it Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 the video game will be released on October 20, 2023 and will be a next-generation exclusive for PS5. You won’t have to wait long to spend your hard-earned cash on the game as you’ll be able to pre-order the game this month on June 16th.
It has also been revealed that a few different versions of the game will be available for purchase, with the Standard Edition at $69.99 (US) MSRP. There’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition, which will cost $10 more and include the game, all pre-order incentives, 10 unique suits (5 for Peter, 5 for Miles), additional photo mode frames and stickers and 2 additional skill points. .
A Collector’s Edition will also be available for $229.99 and can be pre-ordered via PlayStation Direct starting at 10am local time on June 16th. Includes the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, a Steelbook case, and a 19-inch statue of Venom battling Peter and Miles in their Spider-Man suits.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to the fantastic 2018 Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020 Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The latest installment in the franchise will feature a variety of popular Spider-Man villains, including Kraven the Hunter and Venom, who will be voiced by the Candyman star Tony Todd. It’s also been revealed that this version of Venom isn’t Eddie Brock.
In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players will be able to experience Marvel’s New York City as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. As you saw at the PlayStation Showcase last month, the game’s main storyline has you taking control of both Spider-Men at different points in the campaign. In the open world, you’ll be able to switch between them almost instantly as you explore Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Both Spider-Men have stories and missions in the world exclusive to each of them.
The gameplay video showcases some of the symbiote’s powerful new abilities while teasing that Peter is becoming more aggressive due to its influence. I have three promotional videos for the game that you can watch below!
