There is a ridiculous rumor spreading like wildfire on social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube that Disney is trying to sell the Star Wars franchise. Not only that, but they’re even saying it George Luke he is trying to buy it back.
Many people and fans believe this news to be true, but it’s all a load of bullshit. Rumors like this are conjured up out of the blue by websites and social media influencers just to get clicks, and many of them present it as fact. There is no validity in these entries.
There are no real credible sources behind them and Disney has made a lot of money from the franchise. They’ve already made their initial investment of $4 billion dollars, so everything they do going forward with the franchise is a profit for them.
There are also several high-profile ones Star Wars projects in development including Ahsoka, Skeleton crew, The Acolyte, Andor Season 2, a new film by Rey Skywalker, Dave Filonithe film, James Mangoldthe project of, and Taika Waititiit’s a movie.
It’s just plain old-fashioned common sense that will tell you these rumors are absurd, but I know even people at Disney say they’re not true. So if you come across these rumors, it’s all a bunch of bullshit. You must love the internet.
I know some fans would love nothing more than to sell Disney Star Wars get back to George Luke, but that won’t happen. I’m sure Lucas is enjoying his retirement very much.
