Kirk and Uhura’s relationship teased in STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS season 2

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 is coming and it looks like it’s going to be an amazing journey! The first trailer that was released was pretty awesome and gave us an exciting preview of what’s to come.

One of the things he’ll play with next season is the first meeting of two of Star Trek’s most iconic characters… James T. Kirk and Nyota Uhura. Celia Rose Gooding takes on Uhura’s role in the series and recently spoke about exploring her relationship with Kirk.

The trailer that was released featured Paul WesleyThere’s Kirk and Uhura drinking together, and Kirk has that huge flirtatious smile plastered on his face. As you know, Kirk has a reputation as a lady’s man. He and Uhura actually shared a kiss in an episode of the original Star Trek series, which was a big deal in the 60s because it was interracial.

Anyway, when it comes to their relationship in the upcoming season of Strange new worldsgooding said:

“I can say that, without spoiling anything, I think Kirk’s reputation definitely precedes him, and that when we meet Uhura, I think if she was in a less tender moment of mourning after the loss of one of her closest friends, I think the their introduction would have been a little different. But since I know where they meet and how they meet and how it all goes together, I’d say there are hints that anything is possible. And yes, Kirk’s reputation definitely precedes him and Uhura is a one a little worried about everything that just happened to her to really understand what’s going on with this guy right now.That’s where her head is.

It will be fun to see these characters explored over the next season and I really hope the creative team has some fun. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 will be released on Paramount+ on June 15th!
