Netflix has released a full trailer for the third season of the fantasy drama series, The sorcerer. The trailer teases exciting and intense action-packed sequences and Henry CavillGeralt of Rivia has unleashed a bloody rampage! Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer of Vengerberg, e Freya AllanCiri also engages in quite a bit of action. If you are a fan of the series, then this trailer will surely get you excited about what is to come.
This will be the last we see of Cavill as Geralt and this is a chapter in the story where the badass monster hunter first begins to understand true fear. Series creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich previously said this season feels like the actor’s “most heroic farewell.”
When Cavill exited the show, he was replaced by Liam Hemsworth, who will play the character in seasons 4 and 5, which was recently announced. Fans are still blown away by this huge change, but the creative team and Netflix really hope fans show up and keep watching.
In The sorcerer Season 3, “while monarchs, wizards and beasts of the continent compete to capture her, Geralt hides Ciri of Cintra, determined to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with magical training by Ciri, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where he hopes to learn more about her untapped powers; instead, they find they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and betrayal. They have to fight back, put everything on the line or risk being lost forever.
The showrunner continued, “Henry has given so much to the show and so we want to honor that properly. What’s so interesting is that season 3, to me, is the closest thing we’ve come to as a one-time adaptation to one of the books. Of course, we can’t do every page, but Time of Contempt has given us so many great action events, plot points, defining character moments, huge reveals of a big bad. There is so much to do . we were able to stay very, very close to the books.”
The series is also starring Jodhi May like Calante, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson like Eist, Adam Levi like sack of mice, MiaAnna Buring like Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni like Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read like Sabrina, Emma Appleton like Renfri, Eamon Farren like Kahir, Joey Batey like Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen like Stregobor, Royce Pierreson like Istredd, Maciej Musiał like Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara), and Anna Shaffer like Triss. Newcomers include Robbie Amell (Loading), Meng’er Zhang (Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings) as Milva, Hugh Skinner (Mamma Mia Here We Go Again!) as Prince Radovid, and Christelle Elwin (Half Badas) Mistle.
The series comes from the producer and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich who has already shared that next season will adapt Andrzej Sapkowski’s Time of Contempt, which is the second novel in the Witcher saga.
The first five episodes of the third season of The Witcher will be released on June 29, while volume 2, including the last three episodes of the season, will be released on July 27. Enjoy the trailer!
