Horror movie fans wanted to see John Carpenter directing another film for years, but it’s one of those things that he avoided. It feels like something he’s not interested in doing anymore, which is both understandable and a little sad.
He recently teased a sequel to his classic sci-fi horror film The thing it could happen but he didn’t give any real details and we have no idea what his involvement is. But it turns out that she has been secretly directing something!
The director revealed to At Texas Frightmare that he has directed the new TV series John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams and he did it all from the comfort of his home while directing remotely, which doesn’t sound like fun at all, but apparently that’s how he likes to do things these days.
He said, “I just finished directing, remotely, a TV series called Suburban Screams — John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams. You guys have to watch it. It was filmed in Prague and I sat on the couch and directed it. It’s been great.”
There are no other details on the series and we have no idea when, where or if it will be released. But the fact that he’s directed something new should excite fans.
The last film he directed was the 2010 film The Departmentand in 2017 Carpenter directed a music video for the soundtrack of his 1983 film Christine.
Are you excited to hear that Carpenter has directed a new project!?
