Thames is best known for starring in The black phone and Parker played Sarah Miller in HBO’s first episode The Last of Us and has also appeared in films such as Dumbo AND The third day. Both seem like great choices for lead roles!
The live action How to train your dragon will be written, directed and produced by Dean DeBlois, which was behind the original animated films in the series. She is making her live-action directorial debut with the film. It will be produced by Marc Platt (Legally blonde, evil).
This new film is said to “adapt the trilogy of films made by DreamWorks.” How to train your dragon is based on the books by Cressida Cowell and the story centers on the special friendship between a young Viking boy named Hiccup and Toothless, a wounded dragon who he nurses back to health. It was a coming-of-age story that followed them on a quest to address humanity’s prejudice against dragons.
This will be the first time a DreamWorks animated franchise has been reimagined in live-action. They are just following the lead of Disney, which has seen a lot of success from their remakes.
