FAST X almost made Jason Momoa and Alan Ritchson’s characters brothers

Fast X introduced two new characters to the franchise with Jason Momo like the villain Dante Reyes and Alan Ritchson as Agent Aimes, the new head of Mr. Nobody’s agency. If you haven’t seen Fast Xthere are some spoiler details ahead, but these two characters were almost brothers in the story.

Throughout the film, both Dante and Aimes are on separate missions to take down Vin Dieselis Dom Toretto. Reyes wants to torture him by hurting his family and Aimes wants to capture him. Well, during the film’s climax it seems that Aimes finally realizes that Dom and his family have been set up by Dante, and apparently starts helping him.

However, in the end, it is revealed that Aimes has been helping Dante all along and they have been working together since the events of Quick five. In a flashback sequence, we see that Aimes was present during the film’s vault heist, and this sparked a partnership that led to the silly plot twist in Fast X.

When revealing that the two characters would almost become brothers, Ritchson explained to Entertainment Weekly:

“I don’t know if that’s divulging too much, but we shot a couple of different stories. One was that Jason Momoa’s character and Aimes were blood brothers. They were actually related, and one of the reasons they bonded was because of their genetic link. There is a version in the editing room of that film, but it was finally decided that the other version which is the one that is in the film now – we learn at the end of the film what a very surprising twist that there was a alliance between them all the while making him possibly the villain – that’s what we’re left with. I wasn’t really sure which version would live on, but I knew there was a lot of duplicity in the character and that ultimately it was a bad boy, at least for now. We’ll see what the future holds.”

I mean, I guess the whole brother thing could have worked. it really wasn’t going to change the movie or make it better or worse. It would actually make more sense for them to bond because they were brothers. But I guess Ritchson’s character was just a super loyal employee. What do you think!?
