A new trailer has been released for the feel-good Irish comedy-drama The Miracle Clubstarring the Oscar winner Katie Bates (Misery, The office), Emmy winner and Academy Award nominee Laura Linney (Kinsey, mystical river) and Academy Award winner Maggie Smith (Harry Potter, Downton Abbey). The film also stars Agnes O’Casey AND Stephen Reaand was directed by Thaddeus O’Sullivan from a script written by Joshua D. Maurer, Timothy PragerAND Jimmy Smallhorne.
Here is the synopsis:
Ballygar, Ireland, in the year 1967: a boisterous community outside Dublin marching at its own pace – frenetic, fast and free – and yet also deeply soulful; rooted in the traditions of loyalty, faith and solidarity. And the opportunity to rise above your daily struggles is frankly a pipe dream, especially for women. There is only one dream for the women of Ballygar to taste freedom and escape the gauntlet of domestic life: to win a pilgrimage to the sacred French city of Lourdes.
