Disney Studios has released a new clip from The little Mermaidand in this, we can look at the scene where Melissa McCarthyUrsula’s evil character sings “Poor Unfortunate Souls”. This song is a classic from the original animated film and McCarthy does a decent job singing it almost the same way as the original.
In the original film, the song was performed by Pat Carroland Ursula is trying to trick Ariel into trading her voice for the possibility of living on dry land among humans with human legs.
This movie is seriously just a shot-for-shot remake of the original animated film. I liked the original movie! It’s a Disney classic, and Disney seems to be happy with this simple remake formula.
The film comes from the director Rob Marshall, and is also the protagonist Halle Bailey like Ariel, Daveed Diggs like Sebastian’s voice; Jacopo Tremblay like Flounder’s voice; Awkwafina like Scuttle’s voice; Jonah Hauer-King like Eric; Malik art; Name Dumezweni as Queen Selina; and Oscar winner Javier Bardem like King Triton.
The little Mermaid is the “beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most rebellious, Ariel she longs to know more about the world beyond the sea, and while she visits the surface, she falls in love with the handsome Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden from interacting with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the wicked sea witch, Ursula, that gives her the chance to experience life on land, but in the end she jeopardizes her life and her father’s crown.
