Shia LaBeouf she found her next film project with Cluban action thriller to be directed by Jon Amiel. The film will also star Trevor Jackson (Grown-ish, Superfly).
Mace tells the harrowing story of two very different types of cops, “a veteran officer Mace (LaBeouf), dangerous and corrupt, and Virgil Woods (Jackson), a young rookie who believes he can change the system who promotes cops like Mace from within .”
The film is “inspired by the recent racial injustice on the streets of America and Woods refuses to be bullied and pits his principles against the amoral Mac. Woods risks everything he believes in to stop Mace from destroying the city when Mace he unleashes a gang war to cover up his crimes. Everyone around Mace is in danger as Mace plays his game and tries to cover his trail, whatever the cost.
I have no doubt that LaBeouf will fully immerse himself in this role and deliver another great performance.
The screenplay for the film was written by David Chisholm and is produced by Kirk D’Amico, who said: “We are delighted that Shia LaBeouf will lead the cast of this film that explores the underbelly of a police precinct in contemporary New Jersey . We think that with Jon Amiel at the helm and Shia in the title role, the result will be extraordinary and exciting.”
Producer Lawrence Steven Meyers added, “We’re really excited to have put together such a package. With the incredible script, Jon at the helm, and Shia joining Trevor as the lead actors, it’s an irresistible creative stroke for us. Thankfully, the investment from Robert’s Tribune Pictures enabled us to greenlight the film in time for Myriad to take it to the Cannes market.”
LaBeouf will soon be seen in Francis Ford Coppolait is highly anticipated Megalopolis and just joined the cast of David Mamet’S Murder.
