The successor to Buffy the Vampire Slayer officially takes over in Boom!  BUFFY THE LAST VAMPIRE Studios

There is something new Buffy the Vampire Slayer limited comic series originating from Boom! Studios titled Buffy the last vampire, which will tell stories set in a future post-apocalyptic timeline. The series will also see Buffy’s successor officially take over.

The story places emphasis on Thessaly, but to her friends, she is Tessa. She stepped into the mantle of Slayer from Buffy in a previous one-shot, also titled Buffy the last vampire.

The description reads: “Thess has grown up, having taken on the role of the new Huntress. But with new responsibilities comes new enemies and a mysterious clan who will do anything to get to her… even if it means using her friends as bait.” !”

Buffy the Last Vampire will run for five issues, and is written by Casey Gilly, who wrote the story’s previous installments, with art by Oriol Roig.

Gilly said in a statement, “It always feels SO GOOD to sink my fangs into Last Vampire Slayer! For this arc, Oriol and I are taking readers to beautiful Santa Carmen, California where our girl Thessaly is discovering the life of a Slayer in his early twenties: he has a job at the local boardwalk, a huge crush on his cute co-worker, oh… and a bunch of horrifying supernatural murders to stop.It’s been a real privilege to see these characters across three books , so far and I hope everyone is excited to see what we have in store for them.”

Series editor Elizabeth Brei said: “The Last Vampire Slayer is such a fun world to explore! The world needs its Slayer, and they’re getting a brand new one in Thess. Her journey is one no one should LOSE”.

Roig added, “It’s amazing what Casey is doing with Buffy. Urban fantasy with monsters, magic, romance, drama … What’s not to love? Getting to bring this to life is an absolute pleasure.”

Buffy the last vampire #1 will go on sale in August.
