Drafthouse Films + Kanopy have released the trailer for the upcoming documentary The YouTube effect that comes from writer and director Alex Winter of the Bill and Ted movie. The paper takes a fascinating look at YouTube, one of the world’s most powerful media platforms, and the problems and dangers it has come to cause in our time. The document tells the story of how YouTube got to where it is and how it needs to be fixed.

The YouTube effect aka Mass Effect: The Story of YouTube will release exclusively with Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas beginning July 7, 2023 before expanding to more theaters nationwide on July 14, followed by its debut on Kanopy and other digital platforms.
