Vin Diesel teases that FAST X could be the first part of a trilogy

From Fast X it was announced that it was marketed as the first film in a two-part story that would close out the franchise. So after Fast X, we would have had another movie. Well, it looks like the grand finale could span three films instead of two!

During an interview at the Fast X premiere during a live stream, Vin Diesel was asked about the future of the franchise and where Dom Toretto would go after the franchise ended. The actor then joked:

“I can say this, going to make this movie, the studio had asked if it could be a two part movie. And, after the studio saw this part 1, they said, ‘Could you do Fast X, the finale, a trilogy? ?’ So, um…”

Michelle Rodriguez he echoed those comments by saying, “It’s three acts in every story.” So, there seems to be a chance that we as fans will get a full trilogy that will close the story.

After making these comments during the live stream, the two actors immediately started joking about the mess they may have made with this revelation. The studio has yet to make an official announcement, but if they weren’t messing with fans, it looks like we might actually get a full trilogy to close out the franchise.

The next film is currently in development with Christina Hodson (The flash) AND Oren Uziel (The Lost City, 22 Jump Street) write the script.

Fast X was directed by Louis Letterier (The Incredible Hulk) and written by Justin Lin (F9) AND Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans). Fast X stars returning cast membersTyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Staham, John Cena AND Scott Eastwoodwith Elena Mirren AND Charlize Theron.

The film also features new cast members including Brie Larson as Tess, a rogue representative of the Agency; Alan Ritchson (Reach) as Aimes, the new head of the Agency who doesn’t have the same passion for the Dom crew as his predecessor, Mr. Nobody; Daniela Melchior (The suicide squad) as a Brazilian street racer with a strong connection to Dom’s past; AND Rita Moreno like Abuelita Toretto from Dom and Mia. Then, there is Jason Momoawho plays the ridiculous over-the-top villain.

Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast & Furious saga, launches the final chapters of one of cinema’s most legendary and popular global franchises, now in its third decade and still going strong with the same cast and characters as when it began.

Over the course of many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outwitted, unnerved and defeated every foe in their path. Now they face the deadliest adversary they have ever faced: a terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past, fueled by a blood feud, and who is determined to tear this family apart and destroy everything – and everyone – that Dom loves, forever. . .

In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took down nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and beheaded his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son Dante (Aquaman’s Jason Momoa) witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years hatching a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price.

Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his 8-year-old son (Leo Abelo Perry, Black-ish) is the ultimate target of Dante’s revenge.

Fast X will be released on May 19, 2023.
