Prime Video has released a poster for Neil Gaiman’S Good omens Season 2! Yep, Season 2 is finally here and it premieres on July 28th. It feels like an eternity since the end of the first season. The first season was originally planned as a limited series because there was only one book to adapt. But, when the series became a smash hit, Prime Video greenlit a second season…with Gaiman’s permission.
This series follows the story of Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), “an angel, and Crowley (David Tennan), a demon, who formed an unlikely friendship that lasted 6,000 years and grew fond of life on earth. However, the end times are approaching as Armageddon approaches and now they must join forces to find a way to save the world.”
The new six-episode season “will explore storylines that go beyond the source material to illuminate the mysterious friendship between Aziraphale, a demanding angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since the beginning and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are making it easy to live among mortals again in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a startling mystery.
In the story, “Aziraphale and Crowley are returning to normal, living in London among mortals, when a new angel, Muriel, unexpectedly shows up on their doorstep. The angel (and the new angel) and the demon will have to solve a mystery before they can return to their home lives together.
The series is also starring Derek Jacobi (Gladiator) reprising his role as Metatron, and joining him is Dame Siân Phillips (Dune). They also come back this season Marco Gatis (Sherlock), Steve Pemberton (Eve killing), AND Reece Shearsmith (extension no. 9) in the roles of Mr. Harmony, Mr. Glozier and William Shakespeare.
Niam Walsh (The English game) also returns and joins the series in new roles Tim Downie (foreigner), Pete Firman (The wizards), Andi Osho (I can destroy you), AND Alex Norton (Pirates of the Caribbean).
Other cast members include Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Nina Sosanya, Doon Mackichan, Gloria Obianyo, Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda, AND Shelley Conn.
Gaiman will continue as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside the executive producer Douglas Mackinnonwho returned to direct all six episodes.
