‘Andor’ showrunner paralyzes recordings after accused by striking writers – (Disney) Special
The Hollywood screenwriters’ strike is suspending the work of some of the most important productions, both in cinema and in the world of streaming, even those who had decided to continue with their recordings have been forced to stop, this is the case of the spin off of Star Wars on Disney+, ‘Andor’.
This movement of requests from screenwriters to the major film studios began on May 2, the date on which several productions completely stopped their work, however, others such as ‘Andor’ decided to continue filming indicating that their scripts were already been ready for a long time , something that made the creator and showrunner of this Star Wars spin-off, Tony Gilroy, it was pointed out negatively by some members of the writers union.
For this reason, in a recent interview conducted by The Hollywood Reporter, Tony Gilroy stated that he has completely stopped his writing work ‘Andor’ 2 from May 1stand was only serving as showrunner, however, he has now adopted a new stance and has decided to completely stop recording the new episodes of this Disney+ series.

The recordings of the second season of ‘Andor’ started in the first weeks of 2023so they are certainly already at an advanced stage, a title which, like many others who have paused their work, could be delayed in the release of its new episodes in the world of streaming.
Is ‘Andor’ Delaying Its Release Date?
Currently, the Hollywood writers strike It doesn’t seem to be close to the end, because the union of this union has not reached an agreement with the big film studios, so everything indicates that this movement will last at least throughout the month of May, which would make the interrupted productions remain so much longer long.

If recording work doesn’t resume, the danger of a delay in scheduled release dates increases, but for now, most discontinued titles don’t appear to be in any danger of delaying release dates, including Season 2 of ‘Andor’ , a production that has confirmed its release until 2024 in Disney+.
With its filming well underway and a release date until next year, it’s unlikely the second season of ‘Andor’ suffers from some delay, for now we will have to wait to see what will be the outcome of this writers’ strike which has put several important cinema and streaming world productions in difficulty.
