Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) AND Toni Revolori (Spider-Man: I’m Going Home) will star alongside each other in an upcoming sci-fi animated series titled Ghosts of Ruin.
The story is set in the near-future tech dystopia of San Francisco,”Ghosts of Ruin is a genre animated series in which virtual reality has evolved into neural reality, creating a world where video games have been synced directly into players’ minds and are indistinguishable from real life.
The show follows “a group of gamers on their journey through the world’s first real-life neural reality battle tournament called ‘Ruin’. However, a rogue agenda emerges to turn their paradise into a living nightmare.
Revolori will voice Lee, the series’ hero, a “little gamer and streamer who finds himself back in the tournament after a last-minute vacancy.” Dawson will voice Prism, “an aloof pro gamer with one goal: to be the undisputed champion of the world.”
It looks like it could be an interesting series and was created by PJ Accetturo and Ryan Ramsey. The show will also feature an original soundtrack composed of Bleeding Fingers Music by Hans Zimmer.
Gala Film Chief Executive Officer Sarah Buxton he said in a statement: “It was important for us to support this project. Our capabilities in Web3, coupled with our latest platform technology, will provide a more rewarding experience for anime creators and fans through digital property, rewards and engaging opportunities.”
Showrunners Michael Ryan he added: “Rosario Dawson and Tony Revolori are such talented creatives and their dynamic performances will bring depth and authenticity to the complex characters of our dystopian sci-fi world. In collaboration with Gala Film and Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Music, Ghosts of Ruin will truly be a unique and immersive experience that will leave audiences in suspense as the series explores the insidious intrigues of a near-future world.
Ghosts of Ruin will debut in August on the website of Gala Film, the film and television division of the Web3 Gala company. There are no streaming service companies attached to the project yet, but Battle Island plans to purchase the project on other platforms for a larger release.
