Chris Hemsworth was actually set on fire for that wild scene in the EXTRACTION 2 trailer

The first trailer that was released for Netflix Extraction 2 offered an absolutely insane first look at the action movie! The trailer was basically a scene from the movie he saw Chris Hemsworth brutally fighting in a prison riot while trying to help a young woman escape.

The insanity of the action scene keeps escalating to the point where Hemsworth is on fire, beating a boy to death while his arm is on fire! This complete sequence is 20 minutes long and Hemsworth was actually set on fire for the sequence!

The film is directed by Sam Hargraveand is produced by Joe AND Anthony Russo, and they’re going to action with this one. Speaking to Empire Magazine, Hargrave spoke about this action scene, described as “the craziest in cinematic history,” and said:

“For me, the image of Chris Hemsworth beating a group of prisoners to death, while on fire, in the snow was something I couldn’t pass up. Hats off to Chris. It wasn’t CG fire. And he had to again and again.I don’t know many people, let alone the A-lists in Hollywood, who will let you set it on fire while on camera.

The director went on to talk about the dangers of a stunt like this, quipping, “If the wind is blowing the wrong way, the moneymaker is right here.” He then talked about shooting the scenes, saying:

“We had a bunch of different jackets all made up for him, with different layers. But we set Chris Hemsworth on fire and he beat up a bunch of guys all night. It was pretty amazing to watch.”

Hargrave went on to talk about how ambitious it was to shoot this scene as it was made to look like one long uncut sequence, saying, ‘It’s an insane undertaking. It covers miles of ground over the course of the sequence and many minutes of time. ambitious”. He added:

“We build some spots where we could. But in those broken pieces you still have sequences that will be between 30 seconds and a minute and a half. Sometimes there are 50, 60, 75 moves in a row with dozens of stunts. And it was at night, in middle of winter. Chris had red ears and nose because he was freezing.”
