Now that James Gunn he completed his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, some Marvel fans have been wondering if we’ll ever see a director’s cut of the film trilogy, anything like this Peter Jackson did with the extended edition of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

A fan reached out to the director on Twitter to ask if there would ever be a Director’s Cut of the film, and in response, Gunn revealed that there already is, as the trilogy as it currently exists is the Director’s Cut.
The director’s replay was, “Yes (the trilogy as it stands is the Director’s Cut).”
So, Gunn is 100% happy with how these movies are currently, and there’s nothing he would change about them. I love that he was able to make these films exactly how he wanted them to. This is truly an incredible trilogy of films and is easily one of the best trilogies to have ever been made.
I’m sad that Gunn has stopped playing with these wonderful characters, and it will be interesting to see what Marvel does with them next, and who they hire to take over the writer’s and director’s chairs. Chances are what comes next won’t be anywhere near as good as what Gunn created. Good luck to whoever tries!
At Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are settling on Knowhere. But it’s not long before their lives are turned upside down by echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a perilous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission which, if not successfully completed, could lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt like Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana like Gamora, Dave Bautista like Drax, Karen Gillan like Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin/Rocket on set, Afternoon Clementeff like mantis, Bradley Cooper such as Rocket, and Vin Diesel like Groot. There are also new additions to the cast Will Poult such as Adam Warlock e Chukwudi Iwuji such as the High Evolutionary as well as Daniela Melchior, Nico SantoAND Borat next movie‘S Maria Bakalova like Cosmo the space dog.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you should!
