There’s already been a huge stunt teased Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one with Cruise riding a motorcycle off a cliff in a base jump. Well, there’s another crazy stunt they did for the movie that featured a fight sequence on top of a speeding train, which they actually pretty much did!

The scene was filmed near York and sees Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in a fight with Esai Morales’ villain atop a steam train. As you can imagine, this was not an easy task! During an interview with Empire, McQuarrie explains that if they had known how difficult it would be to shoot this scene, they wouldn’t have done it. He said:

“We’re making a film that involves a sequence that they basically don’t shoot anymore, and they haven’t done in a long, long time. The sequence we’re shooting right now is no exception. And like most things in Mission: Impossible, if we’d known what the challenges were when we started, we never would have done it.

This scene has been teased in some footage that has been released, but I imagine the whole sequence will be a pretty cool site to see. The director also talked about Cruise riding a motorcycle off a cliff saying:

“There’s a whole category of action movies that are about amazement. For me, amazement is a condiment, not a dish. I have an actor who is going to ride a motorcycle off a cliff. Now the hard part is that I have to make the public care.

I recently saw a new trailer and 20 minutes of footage from the film which featured an incredibly fun car chase sequence. We share our reaction to that footage here. This movie will be filled with all kinds of cool stuff for fans!

The test screenings are also doing very well and apparently this audience is losing their minds for the film, and after seeing what I’ve just seen… I believe it!

The film is also the protagonist Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simone Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa KirbyAND Henry Czerny together with the newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Clementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) AND Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (game of Thrones), Marco GatisAND Cary Elwes (Saw). Nick Offerman (Parks and Amusement)Janet McTeer (Tumbleweed, Albert Nobbs), Hanna Waddingham (Ted Lasso), AND Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Nightmare Alley).

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One AND Second part will be released on July 14, 2023 and June 28, 2024.
