I hope everyone is having fun Star Wars Day! It’s May 4th and it’s a day when fans of the franchise enjoy celebrating everything Star Wars. Well, apparently some die-hard Star Trek fans are feeling left out and complaining about Star Wars Day and wondering why there is no Star Trek Day.

WELL, Star Trek ambassador William Shatner had a perfect answer to a fan wondering why there was no Star Trek by saying, “Star Trek is celebrated 364 days of the year. Give them their day.”
You have to love Shatner. As for why Star Wars Day exists in the first place, that was something George Lucas informally created, and the whole “May the 4th be with you” thing actually started as a joke! But the fandom stuck to it and helped it grow in popularity.
Now Lucasfilm and Disney have fully embraced it and are using the opportunity for big marketing and merchandising efforts.
