I’m curious to see how the audience reacts Will PoultThere is Adam Warlock Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. I thought the character was handled well in his big Marvel movie debut and I hope we get to see him more in the future.

This character has been teased for years and now we finally get to see the golden god in action, and he’s a force to be reckoned with. Now that he’s been introduced to the MCU, what does the future hold for him!? Poulter addressed this question in an interview with CB, saying:
“It kind of depends on how people react to the character. If fans don’t like Adam Warlock, obviously I’m going to be pretty gutted. My family’s opinion means a lot, but it won’t necessarily bring me back as the character.”
I have a feeling we will see him again. I’m not sure when or in which movie, but I think audiences will like the character.
Talking about the character earlier, James Gunn shared that he’s basically an evil kid in the film: “It’s a little more complicated than that, but he’s definitely not a good kid. What we’re seeing is the infant form of Warlock, fresh out of the cocoon, and he doesn’t understand life very well. He is basically a child.
Gunn continued on why he cast Poulter as Adam Warlock, saying, “People online were like, ‘Oh, Tom Cruise should be Adam Warlock.’ I wanted someone who was young, and I wanted the person who had the dramatic and comedic chops, not just for this movie, but for what Marvel is going to use Adam Warlock for in the future. He could become this really important character.
There is also a clip that has been released of Warlock battling Nebula and showing what the Guardians are up against.
Poulter also spoke about the audition process she went through to get the role, saying, “When I first auditioned for Adam and sent in a tape, I didn’t even know who I was auditioning for. I was auditioning for an untitled character, so it was confusing, but ultimately, I was drip-fed with information about the being I was trying to play. I knew this character was teased at the end of the second movie, but it was a welcome surprise to find out that he was a character that has been steeped in the story of this comic and cross paths with [Chukwudi Iwuji’s] character.”
The film will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
