Pete Davidson’s SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE host debut canceled due to writers’ strike

Actor Peter Davidson (The King of Staten Island) was set to return Saturday night live this Saturday for his hosting debut, with musical guest Lil Uzi Vert. But the show was sadly canceled due to the writers’ strike.

Davidson spent eight seasons at the SNL and, following his departure last year, was ready to return to promote his next series, Bupkiswhich also reads Joe Pesci as Davidson’s grandfather, Ed Falco like Davidson’s mom, Charlie Day, Brad Garrett, Simone Rex, Jon Stewart, Rai Romano, Kenan Thompson, Chase On Wonders. The series is described as an “enhanced fictional version of the real life of Pete Davidson”. The series is said to combine “grounded storytelling with absurdist elements of the unfiltered, wholly original worldview for which Pete is well known.”

Davidson’s appearance on SNL will have to be rescheduled at this point, and the final two episodes of the season after this week’s one will also remain airing until the strike is resolved.

With the ongoing writers’ strike, several productions are feeling the impact of the movement involving a dispute between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Nightly shows such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live! AND Late Night with Seth Meyers they are broadcasting repeats during the break. This week tonight with John Oliver, Live with Bill Maher AND The daily show I’m also on break.

Also feel the heat are scripted shows like Abbott Elementary, Yellow Jackets AND Cobra Kai. Meanwhile, the production of shows such as The sight AND House of the Dragon continues despite the strike.
