Many fans are wondering which characters die in the film, and while I’m not going to spoil it for you, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that he allowed Gunn to kill off whatever character he wanted Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
When asked how much leeway he’s been given to steer characters into places that could impact the future of the MCU, Feige responded by saying, “I think he’s got all the leeway.” Gunn added, “Especially on this one.”
Nathan Fillion, who was hosting the panel, then asked, “Don’t you get nervous that he wants to kill people?” Feige chimed in to answer that question, saying:
“In the previous movies we’ve had some discussions about it. But not about this one. And this one was really about completion. Because it’s always been designed as a capper to a trilogy.”
Feige pretty much put all of his faith in Gunn that he would do what was right for these characters and after seeing the film in person, I was pleased with how the characters were handled and how their story arcs ended in this trilogy. I’m excited for all of you to see the film! It comes out this week and I already have tickets to see it again! This time… I’m bringing the family!
