This August, fans of the BOOM! Comic Studios series Mech Cadet Yu will be able to take a look at the adaptation of the animated series in 3D, Cadets Mech, on Netflix. The teams recently announced the voice cast and it’s pretty awesome. Brandon Soo Hoo (Teen Titans: The Judas Contract) will play Stanford Yu, Daniel Da Kim (Raya and the last dragon) will play General Aiden Park, Ming Na Wen (The Mandalorian) will be Stanford’s mom, Dolly, and Debra Wilson (MADtv) will play Chief Max. Here’s a quick rundown of the characters.

Brandon Soo Hoo plays Stanford Yu, an underdog teenager who works as a janitor at Sky Corps and dreams of becoming a robopilot.

Daniel Dae Kim plays General Aiden Park, the battle-hardened leader of the Sky Corps Academy and the Mech Cadet program. As the father of a cadet and general, he expects nothing less than perfection from his daughter and his soldiers.

Ming-Na Wen plays Dolly Yu, the loving, if somewhat overprotective, mother of Stanford and the calm head of the Sky Corps housekeeping crew.

Debra Wilson plays Chief Max, a former Robo pilot, head of engineering at Sky Corps, and mentor to the trainees.
Other cast members will include Aparn Brielle as Ava Patel, Victory Grace as Olivia Park, Josh Sundquist like Franco Olivetti, Anairis quinones such as Maya Sanchez, e James Jaegashi as Captain Tanaka.
Cadets Mech is based on the comic series Mech Cadet Yu created by Greg Pack (World War Hulk) AND Takeshi Miyazawa (Leak). The series comes from the Japanese animation studio Polygon Pictures Inc. and will have 10 episodes. Aaron Lam (Ash vs. The Wicked Dead) is head writer and executive producer of Cadets Mech with Tohru Patrick Awa (The Super Mario Bros. Movie) as supervising administrator. You can read volumes 1-3 of Mech Cadet Yu at your favorite local comic shop or wherever you like to buy comics.
The series is set fifty years in the future, after a terrifying alien species has attacked our planet, and follows teenager Stanford Yu who works as a janitor at the Sky Corps Military Academy. But he’s only dreamed of one thing his entire life: piloting a Robo Mech, giant robots from outer space that have come to our aid. When she finally gets her chance at him, Stanford and her classmates must put all personal differences aside and work together as a team to defend humanity from a new alien invasion.
