‘The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes’ First Trailer: Rachel Zegler Shines As Fierce Lucy Gray Baird

The origin story of Coriolanus “Coryo” Snow will be told The Ballad of the Songbirds and the Serpents. The epic first trailer debuted at CinemaCon on April 27, revealing exciting footage from the upcoming prequel starring Tom Blyth AND Rachel Zegler such as Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Baird. The role of snow in voracious games movies were starred by donald sutherland.

The trailer opens with Coryo and others summoned to the annual harvest ceremony. Lucy Gray Baird of District 12 is chosen to participate in the Hunger Games. “This year there was an opportunity. As a mentor, Mr. Snow, your role is to make these kids into performances, not survivors,” Dean Casca Highbottom tells Coryo.

Coryo becomes Lucy’s mentor and something much more. He tells her that he does everything he can to take care of her. “Do you really want to take care of me in that arena? Start thinking I can really win,” says the formidable Lucy.

Lucy and Coryo grow closer, but things start falling apart. “It’s the things we love most that break us,” an older Snow says in his final moments, hinting at the betrayal to come.

The Ballad of the Songbirds and the Serpents takes place 64 years before Katniss Everdeen starts a revolution. The synopsis of the film reads:The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes follows a young Coriolanus, who is the last hope for his fading bloodline, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute to impoverished District 12.

The synopsis continues: “But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates audiences in Panem, Snow sees a chance to change her destiny. With everything he’s worked for at stake, Snow teams up with Lucy Gray to tip her odds in his favor. Battling his instincts for good and evil, Snow begins a race against time to survive and reveal whether he will end up as a songbird or a snake.

Apparently, Rachel initially turned down the role of Lucy Gray Baird. “And I regretted it as soon as I said it. I had another project booked that didn’t work out and it got pushed back to 2023 and I put my name back in the mix and did it, and I feel really bad for none of the girls… because I put my name back in and they were like , ‘yeah, that’s fine. , cool, let’s do it, ‘” she told al happy sad confused podcasts.

The Ballad of the Songbirds and the Serpents opens 8 years after the last one voracious games movie, protagonist Jennifer Lawrence, Josh HutchersonAND Liam Hemsworth. The prequel will be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.
