James Gunn on casting Superman and what he’s looking for in SUPERMAN: LEGACY

After James Gunn he’s done promoting his next Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3he will completely immerse himself in the development of his own Superman: Legacy movie. The film is currently in pre-production, the script is finished, the designs are being created and the casting process will begin shortly.

Many fans are curious to see who Gunn will play in the movie as Superman. There’s been a lot of rumours, but Gunn keeps shutting them down. While he’s not revealing any actors he’s considering for the role, he did offer some insight into the qualities he’s looking for in an actor:

“It’s hard, but we’re trying, and we actually have some really great choices, which I’m excited about. But it has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. It has to be someone who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has. And it has to be someone you want to give a hug to.”

Can you think of an actor who fits that description…aside Henry Cavill because we know that unfortunately it is not happening. What other actors do you think would make a great Clark Kent/Superman?
