THE FLASH Director and producer discuss Ezra Miller controversy after film screenings

While we were here at CinemaCon we were given the amazing opportunity to watch The flash in its entirety, and it was amazing! You can watch the footage reaction video here. One of the biggest questions we had after the film ended was what were Warner Bros. plans for Ezra Miller because the film is going to be a big hit, but the actor has been doing some pretty crazy things in recent years and has been arrested multiple times for different things including assaulting people, kidnapping, burglary and more.

Eventually Miller apologized for their actions and began treatment for mental health issues. There was a previous report that WB would be open to working with the actor again. The report said, “As Miller has stayed out of trouble since starting mental health treatment in the summer. Some executives are open to continuing with the actor as a speedster who saves the world after The Flash bows out on 16 June”.

Now, The flash director Andy Muschietti had this to say about Miller’s condition at CinamaCon:

“Ezra is fine now. Let’s all hope they are better… They are taking steps to recover. They are dealing with mental health issues, but they are fine. We spoke to them not too long ago and they are very committed to improving.”

Producer Barbara Muschietti added:

“And, I have to say, during our shoot, during principal photography, their commitment to the role was like nothing we’ve ever seen. And the discipline in the work, the will – physical, mental and just the desire to go further the pale – it’s just amazing.”

Despite what they’ve been accused of, it seems Miller may get a second chance to be Barry Allen. Once the final hit of The flash was done, we realized how good of an actor Miller is. Now, with these comments from the Muschiettis, I don’t think they will replace Miller.

Do you think they deserve a chance to continue as Barry Allen? Do you think it would be a mistake to keep them in the DCEU?

Please check The flash in theaters on June 16 of this year. You will not regret it.
