The first singer to reach the top 20 of season 21 is Zechariah blacksmith. Before her performance, she reveals that her Mississippi hometown was badly hit by a tornado and much of the town was destroyed. She starts the evening with a powerful performance by foreigner “I want to know what love is.” Lionel Richie he tells Zachariah it was a “perfect song, perfect performance”. Katy Perry he thinks he is “the top 10 material”.
The next contestant to reach the top 20 is matt wilson. She performs a dreamy version of “Say You Wo n’t Let Go” by jamie arturo. Lucas Bryan he says it was a “big song choice” for him. Lionel loves that Matt brought some “attitude” to his performance and how his family and children are in his vision of his future.
serenity he too made it to the top 20. Kills his rendition of “Baby Love” by the best of mom. “I’m no astrologer, but I can spot a star when I see it,” says Luke. Katy wants to emphasize that now it’s up to the contestants to show who they are as artists. “You are an artist through and through and that is what will set you apart,” she tells Nailyah.
Warren Peay is safe and in the top 20. He talks about his previous battle with alcoholism before singing “Up There Down Here” from zach williams. “I like that you’re authentic,” says Katy. She also thanks him for being vulnerable to the world. Luke commends that this was a “world-class song choice” for Warren.
kaerya impresses with his acting by Lewis Capaldi “Bruises” on the piano. Katy admits Kaerya’s deal “slapped me in the face.” Luke believes this was a “defining moment” for Kaeyra. Lionel wants to make one thing clear to Kaeyra: “You have a career.”
Mary the faith move on to the next stage of the competition. She rocks the stage and sings Burke of Solomon “Cry for me.” Luke loves that Mariah is this season’s “soulful country singer.” Lionel calls the performance “old music, new school presentation”.

The latest contestant to reach the top 20 of this first group is lucia love! This means elisa cristina, emma knocksAND PJAE it has been removed. Lucy decides to sing her stellar original song “Boulders”. Lionel is almost speechless and standing. “I love the way he attacks,” says Luke. He tells Lucy that he has “captured” her heart with his story about her. “Nice way to introduce yourself tonight. It was amazing,” he continues.
The next group of finalists sit on the sofas and await their fate. olive alone reaches the top 20 and maintains the Celine Dion vibes with her stunning rendition of “I Surrender.” Lionel acknowledges that Olivia doesn’t need a “confidence boost” because she has plenty of it. Katy thinks Olivia should keep singing Celine songs and “always play the power card.”
marybeth enters the top 20 with his original song “People Pleaser”. Lionel declares he’s “superstar material” for the country singer. Luke admits he didn’t anticipate this performance and thinks the name Marybeth Byrd “sounds like a star.” michael williams debuts a new look by breaking into the top 20. She makes the crowd swoon with her performance by by Selena Gomez “Losing you to love me.” Luke notes that Michael “looks like a million bucks” and “killed” his performance.
paige ann from elimination from the competition to being in the top 20. He didn’t hold back with his jaw-dropping rendition of “Say Something” from a big world. She is crying at the end of her performance. Katy once again admits that they were wrong to turn her down. She tells Paige Anne that she thinks the teen singer is the “best singer” in her age group “hands down”.
nutsa impresses with his rendition of “Un-break My Heart” by Tony Braxton. “You’re the hardest working person I’ve ever met on this show,” says Lionel. “You are a force to be reckoned with.” Tyson Venegas makes it to the top 20 and performs his original song “180”. Luke tells Tyson that he’s “way beyond his talented years of him.” Lionel is impressed with Tyson’s songwriting skills. “It was a really good song,” he says.
Megan Daniella sweeps the top 20 with his fantastic rendition of “Holy Water” from we the kingdom. Luke is in awe of the performance. “It was the best performance I’ve seen you give this season,” he says. “Nobody sounds like you.” Lionel says it was a “sold out show”.
hard colin he is one of the last contestants to make the top 20. He sings “Pretty Heart” by parker mcollum. Katy admits she wants to vocally push him next time. “I know you have them inside you,” she says. Luke tells Colin to “give it to us”. And he adds, “I think you’re a big star, but you have to understand that you are.”
it’s up to Dawson Wayne, Malik heard, we yearsAND Elias McCormick. The latest singer to enter the top 20 is… Wé Ani! Brings the house down with his rendition of ‘Skyfall’ from adela. Katy is almost speechless. “I’m so shocked right now,” says Katy. Lionel tells Wé, “The amount of talent you have is undeniable.”
