‘Queen Cleopatra’ is a Netflix documentary that will premiere on May 10th. Jada Pinkett Smith is the executive producer of the project, which is about the Egyptian queen Cleopatra. In the show, Cleopatra is played by British actress Adele James. Netflix’s decision to cast Adele, who is half black, as Cleopatra was not without controversy. An Egyptian lawyer has even filed a lawsuit against Netflix. However, the ‘Queen Cleopatra’ director has spoken out in defense of the decision to cast Adele in the lead role.
