For those of you wondering what’s going on with Netflix Season 2 The Sandman series, Neil Gaiman offered an update on the project, which is sure to please fans. There has been absolutely no news or updates on the series’ second season since it was announced last fall, and fans have been curious as it develops.

Well, Gaiman was asked by a fan on Tumblr for “a little bit of news” about the upcoming season of The Sandmanand the writer responded with a positive update! He said:
“The scripts are written. We are launching the first episode that we will shoot. The sets are in the design phase.”
So next season’s development of The Sandman is in full swing! While the next installment of episodes is considered to be the second season, Netflix hasn’t specifically said so. The streaming service. Instead. decided to say that more episodes are on the way. Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s head of UCAN scripted TV, explained that the show is factoring in “lots” in its approach to future episodes.
Actor of desire Mason Alexander Park he addressed the new episodes by saying they’re coming “in a really great way”. Park explained, “Netflix purposely didn’t record calling it Season 2, and therefore, from now on and in the future, and maybe until the end of the universe, I won’t be calling it Season 2 until we know what it is.” .
He continued: “There’s more Sandman coming in a really cool way and it can take many forms, so we’ll start shooting in the summer and tackle the next big chunk of stories in whatever time it might take, and I’m really excited to share the format of what that could be with everyone at the end “.
In the series: “There is another world that awaits us all when we close our eyes and sleep: a place called Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams, gives shape to all our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held captive for a century, his absence sets in motion a series of events that will change both the dream and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must travel through different worlds and timelines to undo the mistakes he has made throughout his vast existence, revisiting old friends and enemies and encountering new entities, both cosmic and human, along the way.
The cast includes Tom Sturridge as a dream, Charles Dance (game of Thrones) as Roderick Burgess, Boyd Holbrook (narcos) like The Corinthian, Patton Osvalt (AP Bio) like the voice of Matthew the Raven, Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place) as Death, Jenna Coleman (Doctor who) as Joanna Constantine, Joely Richardson (Pinch/Tuck) as Ethel Cripps, Vivienne Acheampong AS Lucien, E David Thewlis (THE Harry Potter film) as John Dee.
